Triumph #2 SBA Lender Two Years Running

For the second year in a row, Triumph Bank has been ranked the number two Memphis area Small Business Administration (SBA) lender for the period October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011. The rankings were published in “The List” which appeared in the May 25, 2012 edition of the Memphis Business Journal. Triumph’s SBA loan volume was $8,682,500, representing more than double its SBA loan volume from 2010, according to Memphis Business Journal article published June 1.

The article discussed this increase as part of a wider trend from a “fairly flat” volume of SBA loans made over the past three years. However, the trend is seen as a positive for the future. The Memphis Business Journal notes that, in 2011, the dollar amount of SBA loans made to Memphis and Shelby County businesses increased by over 160% compared to 2010. Jeff Yearwood, Triumph senior vice-president, was mentioned along with Triumph’s number two ranking. The article states that, “Presently, Triumph is on pace with last year’s SBA lending, although Yearwood says there is a chance it could again double its loan volume in fiscal 2012.”

To sum up Triumph’s SBA ranking, Jeff Yearwood said, “Triumph has grown its SBA loan volume by making a commitment to get behind our small businesses. As a locally owned bank, we have always viewed this as one local business helping another.”
